Soil pH testing

Soil acidity is the single most widespread hidden constraint to crop productivity in Western Kenya. When soil pH drops below 5.5, aluminium becomes toxic, phosphorus becomes unavailable, and even expensive fertiliser produces little response. Millions of farmers are unknowingly farming acidic soils and cannot understand why their crops underperform.
