FIPS Africa joined the County Government of Makueni, development partners, exhibitors, farmers and other stakeholders at the 2026 Makueni Agricultural and Trade Fair held at Makindu Showground.
At its stand, FIPS Africa showcased practical conservation agriculture technologies, with a focus on deep tillage to help farmers break hardpan, improve soil health, increase water infiltration and support better crop productivity in dryland areas.
FIPS Africa also highlighted youth-led agribusiness by showcasing good practices in chicken brooding, demonstrating how young people can build poultry enterprises while supporting farmers to access better-managed chicks.
The trade fair brought together actors across agriculture to share solutions in certified seed, fertilisers, irrigation, farm machinery, livestock production, post-harvest handling, value addition, financial services and market access.
Speaking during the official opening, Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr reaffirmed the county’s commitment to smart farming, value chain development and market access as key drivers of agricultural growth.
For FIPS Africa, such platforms are important in bringing practical technologies, farmer learning and partnerships closer to smallholder farmers and young agri-entrepreneurs.
