FIPS serves as a high capacity consortium partner and sub-grantee, proven in multi-sector food and market systems. Our last-mile models and youth enterprise approaches help organizations achieve scale, gender inclusion, and measurable impact across crops, livestock, soil health, and markets.

How we work with NGOs and development organisations

  • Proven last-mile model: With its private-sector-led agricultural extension model anchored on Village-based Advisors (VBAs), we mobilize local entrepreneurs to provide smallholder farmers with knowledge, technologies, quality inputs, and market access. This farmer-led engagement generates a strong, scalable impact.
  • Cross-sector collaboration experience: We work effectively within multi-partner consortia, bridging the gap between NGOs, non-profits, research bodies, and private sector actors that span extension, value-chains, seed systems, youth enterprise, and more.
  • Regional reach and localisation: FIPS supports organisations across Africa to localise and scale the VBA and youth enterprise models in their own contexts. This positions us to serve as an ideal consortium partner for regional programmes requiring local expertise, mobilisation, and scalability.
  • Full-spectrum food and market systems expertise: We offer integrated interventions across different value chains – from staple and high-value crops, livestock genetics, youth enterprise to research innovation, and market linkages.

  • Flexible consortium partner with governance standards: As a registered Public Benefits Organisation with a 20-year track record of donor grants and project partnerships, FIPS is equipped to engage in sub-grants, lead or partner roles, programme delivery, and rigorous monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
