FIPS - Africa works with agricultural machinery manufactures, input suppliers and farmers to develop methods to reduce tillage, thereby increasing soil fertility, increasing yields and saving labour.

FIPS - Africa working with farmers in Trans-Nzoia district has developed a method using a chisel plough to break plough pan. Farmers then plant by hand within the furrows made by the chisel plough.
